1955 Tucker Sno Cat, Arctic Expedition

A 1950s Tucker Sno Cat hand built from scratch by me :)
-
This project started 4 years ago when I visited the Sno Cat in the British Science Museum's storage depot in Bromfield. I attempted to scan the vehicle, but to little avail due to the poor lighting conditions and camera quality. Skip ahead to today and I dug the model out of hybernation and gave it the push across the finish line as the undercarriage, tracks, lowpoly and texturing were yet to be done, so about 75% of it was completed in the last week.

I set myself a poly limit of 125k for this asset, however I hate sacrificing detail because of game art restrictions, in order to demonstrate that it can be done - I made two versions of the tracks. One at 26,000 tris and one at 9600, this brings the mesh's final polycount to 92.6k on the lower version.

The texture/material slots were made in line with modern game art standards. Areas that are hidden or obscured are given a generic tiling texture, while the rest, besides the body, are given a 2k or less. All the textures are as close to or at 10.24 Pixels Per Meter - or FPS quality.
