Suborbital Transport 1 - 'The Stickbug'

Kinsworth Ballistics & Ground - Suborbital Transport 1 (ST1-KBG)
aka 'Stickbug'.
-
A Linear Aerospike propelled 'Final-Mile' intermodal transportation system.
-
Powered by four variable thrust Electric Aesospike 'LARE' engines the ST1 (or Stickbug, as it's colloquially known) is capable of transporting various 15ft intermodal containers up to 10 miles on a single charge. Originally designed, prototyped and sold in less than 6 months after an argument with the CEO of KB+G and the lead engineer, the ST1 became a staple of industrial transportation to remote and inaccessible locations practically overnight.
-
Various design flaws from the fast design inception caused a few major setbacks, with the most notable being the Kabizi launch disaster in 2037, which killed three people after a structural failure on the front engine's crossbar caused the frame to snap and spiral out of control. The ST2 addressed most major faults and added an adjustable bridge to fit 30 and 40ft containers, powered by two extra LARE engines.

Created over the course of two weeks from design inception to finished game ready model. The goals of this project were to test my ideation skills as I hadn't created an original concept from scratch in quite some time. Design and concept were entirely made from scratch by myself.

Final polycount is around 196,920 tris for the ST1 and the ISO tank combed - the large polycount mostly due to the scale of the entire asset taking up 128 cubic meters of space (8x4x4m). That, and polycount wasn't a huge focus for the goals of this asset.

Three 4x4k Texture sets (Engine, Battery and Container).
